Working on Permanent Solutions

7/26/2026

Dear Peck Citizens,

We know the recent leaks and water shut offs have been frustrating for our community, and we want you to know that our crew is working hard every day to repair areas.

While these leaks have created challenges, they have also helped identify areas of the system that need attention most. Each repair gives us an opportunity to make those areas stronger with upgraded parts and improve reliability and take another step toward a more dependable water system for our community.

At the same time, we are moving grant applications forward and working closely with the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Idaho Rural Water Association (IRWA), Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC), Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA), Rural Development, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), engineers, and other partners to help protect the future of our water system. We have also secured an engineering firm to guide us through the next phase of a permanent solutions for our community’s water system.

The City of Peck is pleased to remind everyone that we ranked #2 out of 29 applicants statewide for funding consideration through the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Water Facility Plan Grant program. Here is more detailed information on that.

Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and support as we work through these challenges together. We are also grateful to our partner agencies, engineers, and organizations for their guidance, support, and collaboration as we plan for the future of Peck’s water system. The City of Peck is thankful for the strength and care of this community, and we remain committed to doing everything we can to provide safe, reliable water for our community.
