Peck’s First Annual City Festival: A Day of Fun, Flavor, and Community Spiri

9/6/2025

The very first Peck City Festival was a tremendous success, bringing our community together for a day filled with laughter, excitement, and hometown pride. As the first annual celebration of its kind, it set the bar high for future years—and we are already looking forward to what’s next!

Festival Planning: Powered by Community

Months of planning and collaboration went into making this event a reality and it came alive on Saturday, August 23rd  Volunteers, local leaders, and members of the Little Big Canyon Club in coordination with the City's mayor, Cheryl Carson, worked tirelessly to organize activities, coordinate vendors, and ensure everything ran smoothly. From securing permits to setting up booths and entertainment, the planning team showed incredible dedication and heart. Their goal was simple: to create a day that brought joy to every corner of Peck—and they delivered!

A heartfelt thank-you goes to the Little Big Canyon Club, who not only sponsored the event but also brought the flavor with their mouthwatering BBQ stand. Festival-goers enjoyed burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and a refreshing lemonade made with fresh-picked huckleberries. Their booth also featured their popular baked goods sale and the iconic “Where the heck is Peck?” slogan T-shirts, which were a hit and helped raise funds for future community events.

The festival grounds were buzzing with activity. Local vendors lined the streets with handmade crafts, tasty treats, and unique finds. Over in the city park, kids had a blast bouncing around in two inflatable bouncy houses, adding even more energy and excitement to the day.

The Peck Fire Department was a major highlight—not only for their safety demonstrations but also for helping everyone cool off on an extremely sweltering day. Firefighters sprayed down the crowd with their hoses, creating a refreshing mist that had everyone cheering. Later, they moved to the park and continued the fun by creating a geyser of water for the kids, turning the area into a spontaneous splash zone full of laughter and joy.

Another crowd favorite was the Peck Nerf War, hosted by Justin Beard, where foam darts flew and friendly competition brought people together. Kids and adults alike joined in the fun, making memories and new friends in the process.

And of course, the Big Canyon Fire Department Rummage Sale planned and set up by Jean Nodacker offered incredible deals and hidden gems. It was the perfect place to find a treasure while catching up with neighbors.

From start to finish, the first annual Peck City Festival was a celebration of community spirit, local pride, and good old-fashioned fun. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a special day. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
